ESP32 Bluetooth LED Control — From Phone to Breadboard

For this project, I used an ESP32-WROVER to switch an LED on and off from my Android phone over Bluetooth. Sending 1 turns the LED on, and sending 0 turns it off. The ESP32 sends a message back to the phone so I can see that the command was received.

The build uses a breadboard, an LED, a 220-ohm resistor, and jumper wires, with an optional GPIO extension board to make the connections easier. I programmed the ESP32 in the Arduino IDE, using BluetoothSerial and GPIO 2 for the LED control.

Getting the connection working was part of the lesson. At first, the ESP32 was not showing up on my phone. A reset got it showing up, and I was then able to test the LED commands. My build photo shows the LED lit and the terminal reporting “LED turned ON.”

I have included my wiring images, parts list, code screenshot, and a demonstration video with this project. It is a small build, but a useful step toward controlling more of my electronics projects wirelessly.

My RC Car Projects: Bluetooth, RF, and Wi-Fi

These photos show some of my RC car projects. They include Bluetooth, RF, and Wi-Fi controlled cars. For some, I wrote the code and designed and 3D printed parts. Others started as kits that I enjoyed assembling and exploring.

Each build taught me something about wiring, controls, and troubleshooting. I enjoy seeing the parts come together and then taking the car out for a test run.

If you’re interested in building one, feel free to ask me about plans for the cars I made or information about the kits I used. I’m happy to share what I learned.

Site Crash

well I am back after the site crash, lost even the backups, so after lots of coding and up and running. Still need some polishing here and there but the core is solid, all in time.
